This crowdfunding campaign seeks to raise the necessary funds to cover the race entrance fee and purchase the equipment necessary to be able to compete in the Global Solo Challenge 2027:

We’re seeking support / sponsorship from like-minded individuals and entities, and through this site you’ll be able to get on board with us on our journey to the starting line.
How It Works
Metric Offshore Sailing Team
and book your place on the boat as virtual crew and travel around the world.
For a contribution from as little as R500 (25 Euro), you’ll be able to upload your selfie, picture of a family member, bestie, company logo, or even pet – which will then appear on the boat (and this site) as part of a sponsorship mosaic of supporter imagery. They’ll fit within a predetermined grid on both the port and starboard sides of the vessel, with each letter (MOST) being available sequentially.
Available pixels will sell across one letter at a time (M; O; S; T), alternating from side to side. For each 5 x 5 cm pixel we are asking for a contribution of R500. If you want your image to be larger, you can choose as many pixels as you want – ideal for company logos.
Purchasing Your Spot
It’s easy and simple to do. Select exactly where you’d like your image to be placed on the boat.
1. Purchase Process:
- Click on the “pixel” (or group of pixels)
- Make your contribution
- Upload your image & hyperlink.
2. We’ll confirm receipt of your contribution and add you to our list of patrons here and on our website.
3. We’ll make sure that the image that you have uploaded meets the minimum resolution standard for quality printing and that your hyperlink works. Next, we’ll add your pixel/s to the virtual mock-up of the boat.
4. Once each letter has been filled, images will be sent to our Sponsor, Digital Express (click here for all your printing needs) who will print your “pixel/s” and then apply this vinyl to the hull of the boat as part of the process.
Then you are all set to sail with us around the globe!
